experience

At AbbVie, I created a breadth of materials in Research & Development, including HCP, patient, and recruitment-focused deliverables for investigative clinical studies. Each study had a design system that was carried across multiple assets.

The three selected studies showcased above explore a glimpse of materials for COVID-19, Stroke & Spinal Cord Injury and Parkinson's disease clinical trials. Other therapeutic areas that I created materials for include: HIV, Mantle Cell Lymphoma, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Myelofibrosis and Small-Cell Lung Cancer (teliso-v).

The challenges with most clinical studies, including these designs, comprised of: general study branding that still laddered up to the larger AbbVie brand; balancing client input and extensive medical information with human-centered design principals; creating engaging materials for patients without over-promising results; and timing., which varied greatly study to study. The COVID study patient journal was created in 48 hours while the Parkinson's study materials were created, updated and translated into over 10 languages, in a span of two years. â€‹â€‹
